Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the provider that supplies that result service; our servers do not retain a copy of the search. A contact message gives us only the information in that message, used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting may record standard server-log information, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand use. Cookies or similar tools can support analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
It is used to operate and repair the service, measure traffic, and improve content. Visitor lists are not sold, and we do not build profiles of individual readers.
External Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Service-Provider Access
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
Safeguards
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data that a website keeps. Because this reference retains very little, requests generally involve checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then removing what is found. Use the Contact page to ask. Missouri state, county, and City public records are outside our control; correction or removal requests for those records belong with the custodian.
Policy Changes
A revised policy will appear here. Continuing to use the reference after publication means accepting the revised terms.
